Groton, CT Pre-race

May 17 - 18, Ragnar Relay New England took place. This road race began in Groton, CT and ended in Quincy, MA, covering about 200 miles of various backroads and trails. This is the second time that I participated in this relay and it did not disappoint!

My team - SLOW IS SMOOTH, SMOOTH IS FAST - (a sloth was our mascot) consisted of 11 runners (we lost a runner last minute) various ages, 3 women and 8 men. The team was divided into 2 vans, 6/5 runners in each; all of us covering varied amount of miles running 3 legs each.

Ready for the dark!

As a team, we slept, ate, and ran together for about 36 hours. Our runs took place during day and night time hours, so we were always prepared. Just look at those smiles!!!!

Relay Change Leg 2 - Tim & Paula

Our goal as a team was to support one another and complete the relay without injury. Van 2 picked up the 17 extra miles for our missing 12th runner. Heroes!
